PLANNED LITTER SPRING 2025
PLANNED LITTER SPRING 2025
When you see a puppy most people fall in love. Their cute little size, fluffy fur, sweet eyes… how can someone not fall in love. BUT… there is a lot of things you should think about before you think about getting a new pet. First, as like anything puppies don’t stay young for long. Unfortunately, puppies go through their puppy stage very fast. Around 18 months old is when mini schnauzers usually stop growing. So, if you get your puppy at 3 months old that means you only have 15 months of them being in that “cute” puppy stage. Studies show that people usually surrender their dogs between 7 months and 3 years old.
Second, everyone will tell you having a baby is expensive. Well, having a pet is also very expensive. Feeding your pet alone can be costly, if you just feed your dog the bare minimum (which is completely fine) it can still be costly. Prices of everything is going up and that includes dog food. If you decide to give your pet supplements or treats etc.… that cost goes up higher. You will need to buy your dogs some toys. You don’t want your dog chewing stuff up around your house so it’s a great idea to introduce your pet to toys that are there to chew on and play with. We are constantly throwing out old toys and having to buy them new ones. The cost of daycare! Some people must work long hours and aren't able to leave their pets home alone for that long unattended. Doggy daycares really come in handy. They are amazing for socializing your dog with other dogs and humans. Also, they give you that comfort that your pet is being taken care of when you’re at work. BUT it comes with a price tag. Vet bills, dogs must go to the vet for their checkups and vaccines. What happens if your dog gets sick or worse, they get a terminal illness?? That vet bill can be very costly. Pet insurance is a great thing to have on all your animals but again that is more money you are spending. Some dogs are very content being the only pet, but other dogs need a playmate. That means getting another dog, two dogs mean twice the amount of money it will cost you. Some dogs don't need to be groomed; mini-Schnauzers do! If they are left ungroomed, they will form knots all over them, causing them pain. We recommend that you get your mini-Schnauzer groomed at least every three months, but you should talk to your groomer about that.
Puppies/dogs need a lot of attention. After a long day of work, you want to come home and relax but your puppy/dog has a lot of energy that they need to wear off. Even if you get your pet a playmate, they are still going to need human interaction. That means not being able to relax when you get home, you will need to take them on a walk, throw the ball with them ETC.
Overall, puppies are a handful, and they all deserve love and attention. Please don't EVER abandon your pet! Most animals that are dropped off on the side of the road won't make it on their own!! Reach out to animal shelters or a breeder. Any good breeder should be able to help you find a home for your pet. If you can't find anyone, please give us a call or email us. If you bought a dog from us or not, we are willing to help you find a home for your new pet, doesn't matter where you live!
